Roof Nearly Completed

Heaps of progress done this week. They have almost comleted the roof with just the capping to be done.

All of the windows are in and the brickies have made progress on all sides of the house. The bricks are looking great and the mortar will lighten up to off white as it dries which will give it a nice contrast.

Frame completed

Yay the frame is complete. We had an inspection and just a couple of minor things to repair. Our roof tiles and bricks have been delivered also. Our brick is Boral Port Phillip and we are getting off white mortar as we like the contrast between the bricks and mortar.

We have half a frame.

Went out this week and they have done half the frame and smoothed out the soil around the site so it looks tidier. We have had wet weather during the week so they wont have been there every day so we hope for sunny days next week so they can finish the frame soon.

The slab is down

Yay the slab is done. Well done Porter Davis this is going a lot faster than I imagined. Its a long weekend now but I guess next week they will start the frame work.

The drains are in

Boy they move fast. This week the fencing is up and they have put all the pipes and drains in. Its really exciting seeing it finally in action.

WE HAVE POWER

Our meter box was installed just after the site was scraped.

Building begins

The diggers came about a week ago and scraped the section. My son was thrilled as the driver let him sit in the digger.

Our Aussie Dream

My husband, my 6 year old son our two cats and I moved here to Australia from New Zealand last year in September.

We are building the Porter Davis, Heywood 29 in Manhattan Place, Tarneit, West Melbourne.

This was our site about two weeks ago. The developers have finished and its ready for us to build on.
